Hot off a series of sell-out shows in New Zealand, Australia, the UK and Ireland, the North America can now enjoy the Kiwi icon’s sensational return to standup after an almost decade-long break!
In a world full of AI and Robot tech can a simple dad with slightly tight jeans stay relevant? Ancient Astronaut Theorists say yes! Rhys hopes to prove that right now a touch of very human silliness is more important than ever!? Perhaps his unique human skills once thought of as absurd, might just be useful after all!

We welcome Kiwis based in the Big Apple the rare opportunity to hear insights about New Zealand’s Michael Hill International Violin Competition from its Executive Director, Anne Rodda, and to learn more about “the Michael Hill” and the remarkable artists and patrons who make this global celebration of excellence a household name for 25 years.

This event is being held to honour the late Sir Michael and the Sheila and Scott Smith family and their exceptional generosity in loaning a 300 year old fine violin to Jenny Jin, the 2023 winner of the Michael Hill International Violin Competition.

This intimate evening, held in partnership with Rare Violins of New York will feature a short recital by Jenny, performing works by Bach, Brahms, and Wieniawski on this exquisite violin.

At age nine, Jenny began her formal studies at the Curtis Institute of Music with Ida Kavafian. She currently studies at the Juilliard School under Itzhak Perlman and Catherine Cho as a proud recipient of the Kovner Fellowship.

RSVPs by 3 January is mandatory as the space has restricted capacity.  Please write directly to Anne Rodda to secure a seat.

Annual SF Kiwis’ Holiday Party featuring pies, Kiwi desserts, a raffle and a no-host bar at a delightful old-school boat club on SF Bay, near Chase Center. $55 members, $85 non-members. Members can bring any number of guests at the member price. 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

We are delighted to invite Victoria University of Wellington alumni to a reception in New York on Thursday 23 October.

The Vice-Chancellor will do an update on University news and share stories of the extraordinary staff, students and alumni making a difference at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.

This is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with fellow graduates, former classmates, and friends. There will be time for Q&A, as well as plenty of space to socialise and network over refreshments. Former study abroad and exchange students are warmly encouraged to attend.

This year we are asking for a contribution of NZ$30 per person (approx US$18) to attend the event. Every dollar raised through tickets will go directly to the University’s Student Hardship Fund, helping students who are struggling to afford essentials like rent, food, and power. With rising living costs and fewer part-time jobs in Wellington, many students face difficult choices between essentials and study. Let’s come together to give back and ensure no student is left behind due to financial hardship.

Nau mai, haere mai—we look forward to connecting with you.
