Looking for the buzz of a varied, senior media role while enjoying a more relaxed way of life? We have an education sector client looking for a media specialist to work in one of New Zealand’s most attractive, fastest growing and affordable regions. It’s a chance to do stimulating work without the grind of the daily commute, or the burden of big city housing costs.

 

What you will be doing

Our client has a lot of positive stories to tell, and you will be working in a small, energetic communications team to:

  • Identify and develop proactive media opportunities
  • Creatively bring stories to life
  • Handle media enquiries and manage reputation risk
  • Work closely with, and advise, senior leaders
  • Support staff in their media engagements.

 

What you will bring

Our client is looking for someone who:

  • Has senior communications experience
  • Is media savvy and has well developed media networks
  • Is comfortable advising senior leaders
  • Has a good risk radar and political nous
  • Can remain calm while managing a crisis or an issue.

Our client is committed to Te Tiriti and is looking for someone with knowledge of te reo and tikanga Māori, or a willingness to learn.
