ANZAC Day 2025 – Czech Republic

ANZAC DAY 2025: a day of activities for everyone!

11.30-12.00 Official Ceremony
12.30-18.00 AFL Football Party
19.00-22.00 Downunder for dinner, DJ, raffle & medal ceremony

Official Ceremony

Anzac Day will begin with our traditional ceremony at the Commonwealth War Graves at the corner of Jana Zelivského & U nákladového nádraží in Prague 3. Join us for a heartfelt tribute as the Ode is read and officials from the Czech Republic, Australia, and New Zealand lay wreaths at the graves of Australian and New Zealand servicemen. It’s a moment to reflect, remember, and pay respects to those who served. When the ceremony has concluded, everyone is invited to make their way to Mrazovka Oval in Prague 5 for the AFL Football Party.

There will be a courtesy bus to transport those at the ceremony to the party but seats are limited so we recommend to book your seat in advance: [email protected]

AFL Football Party

Mrazovka Oval has been booked especially for the AFL’s Anzac Day matches with the first of three games kicking off at 12.30. On-site is a cafe that offers draught beer, lemonade, coffee, tea, hot dogs, grilled cheese, pizza grilled klobasa and chicken/pork steaks that you can purchase with cards or cash.

The venue has seating but consider bringing along a picnic rug if you’d like to set up close to the match. The Prague Dragons have also organised games for both adults and children, including the Longest Kick, Goal Kicking, and a 60-metre sprint, with medals awarded to the winners. The most direct public transport to the playing field is by tram from Andel. Take trams no 15, 9, 10, 16 and 20 to U Zvonu tram stop then change to bus 153 and get off at the Mrázovka stop, a 180 metre walk from the venue.

Downunder Evening

For those eager to keep the celebration going, the players invite you to join them at The Downunder in Vinohrady from 19.00, where the winning teams will be awarded with medals and special meal deals for players, a raffle and a DJ to keep the festivities continuing into the evening.

AFL are also looking for any adults who would like to participate in the AFL matches including the trainings leading up to the day. Simply reach out on their Facebook page or Instagram or on email [email protected]

Anzac Day is an important commemorative day for Australians and New Zealanders but we encourage ALL nationalities to join, mix and enjoy a day that celebrates freedom and sovereignty.

We look forward to seeing you at one or all of our Anzac Day events!!
