Speak Māori With Me – Beginners 3

Firstly, I applaud your commitment to learning Māori.
In our Beginners 1 & 2 courses we got to grips with greetings and pronunciation, and learnt how to ask and answer questions about who, what, where and how. In our Beginners 3 Course we will reinforce and clarify our current knowledge and delve further into:
- Pronunciation including tuning in to the nuances of diphthongs and triphthongs
- Additional sentence structures including describing when and where
- Using modifiers to add richness and detail to our kōrero
- Incorporating kīwaha (idiom)
- Further vocabulary for day to day life.
The 6 face-to-face lessons will be further supported by:
- Vocabulary lists and online flashcards
- Weekly home-learning tasks
- A private facebook group for further practice
- Email support from the tutor
6 sessions x 90 minutes every Monday starting 2nd May 2022.
Course fee: £129.00 (incl booking fee and VAT)
About Your Tutor
May Lee is a speaker of Te Reo Māori, qualified teacher, and has taught in a Māori immersion secondary school. After over a decade in traditional classrooms May Lee began teaching online with her students particularly valuing the opportunity to speak Māori in a safe, supportive, interactive environment. She has taught Te Reo for organisations such as the NZ High Commission UK, NZ Embassies in Europe, The British Council in NZ, and the NZ Business Women’s Network. May Lee is also a haka performer and trainer for Haka Works, and a long standing member and tutor of Ngāti Rānana London Māori Club. Follow May Lee on LinkedIn.
